Dayna Dufour - Owner /Sonographer

​

Precious Paws is owned and operated by Dayna Dufour, a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - more commonly known as an ultrasound technologist. Dayna  graduated from St. Clair College in 2018. She has written her Canadian and American board exams and is registered with Sonography Canada and ARDMS, and an active member of CMRITO. She has worked at a hospital and private clinics performing many different types of ultrasounds on humans. She also has a BSc[H]. in Biological Sciences from the University of Windsor and obtained her MSc. in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Guelph.  She has also completed veterinary ultrasound courses.

Dayna has 7 years experience as veterinary assistant at three different clinics in Windsor-Essex and Guelph. Her other veterinary experience includes shadowing an equine veterinarian and poultry veterinarian and being a small animal surgery volunteer at the Ontario Veterinary College. She has participated in hands-on experience in Costa Rica and Nicaragua operating a free spay/neuter clinics to communities in need to improve quality of life of the animals there. She has also assisted the veterinary team at the Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Race in Fort Kent, Maine.

In her spare time, Dayna likes to geocache, play beach volleyball, paddleboard, foster kittens and take her mini dachshund to compete in any wiener dog races she can!

Carol Deneau -  Sonographer

​

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Carol graduated from a three year Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and was awarded her diploma in 2013. She has been a human sonographer in local hospitals for the past 8 years and has performed over 14,000+ ultrasounds in her career thus far. Her experience includes abdominal, pelvic, obstetrical, small part/soft tissue, musculoskeletal , arterial/venous ultrasounds along with assisting in ultrasound-guided interventional procedures.

 

She has written her American and Canadian ultrasound board exams and is registered with ARDMS and Sonography Canada. She is also a member of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario. 

 

She has further enhanced her training and has taken multiple small animal ultrasound courses throughout the years. For the past 3 years she has been working as an Ultrasound Applications Specialist for Heska. She has traveled throughout Canada setting up ultrasound machines for veterinarians and providing them with in-clinic ultrasound training. She also assists in the labs for Heska's vet academy seminars providing veterinarians with hands-on ultrasound training.

Every ultrasound exam performed will be interpreted by a board certified veterinary radiologist. A typed report will be sent to your clinic within 24 hours.
